John Belingheri grew up in the desert of Nevada in the middle of open space. There is an expression of the light and repetition of pattern he experienced both in his early life and now currently in his urban surroundings in the San Francisco Bay Area. His paintings are the result of the interaction between thought and material.

"I like the texture and feel of paint. I encourage the accidental scars of reworking in an effort to reach something that is beyond reach."
