Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce the eighth solo exhibition with Danae Anderson.
“Movement and music vitally effect the improvised choreography of my paintings.” – Danae Anderson
Danae Anderson was born to parents who traveled often and exposed her to art and diverse cultures at a young age. Her travels along with her formal training as a dancer has influenced the way she creates, where physical actions are an integral part of her process.
Anderson’s relationship with the canvas is intense and instinctive. She allows marks to form through her uncensored conscious, capturing memory, dreams, language, and daily experiences on the surface. To Anderson, artists are called to respond to what happens around them, and so, her paintings reveal a visual narrative that documents the human experience, both the seen and the unseen.
