Tom Bolles
Restless
March 13 - April 18, 2019
Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce the fourth solo exhibition with Tom Bolles.
"There is something both frightening and liberating about having to finally acknowledge that there are far more years in my past than there are in my future. There are a multitude of options one has in making art, and only so many years in which to experiment." - Tom Bolles
Tom Bolles straddles two styles of painting in his newest body of work. The majority of the art in this exhibit is in keeping with his traditional, more minimal style of painting on canvas, but he continues to explore new styles, utilizing digital imagery of pills, blood cells, and gummy bears. Bolles creates bright, playful images using modern digital technology, while still exploring the depth that he achieves in his traditional paintings.
Bolles intends to continue to explore both his newfound and conventional styles. In every artwork that he creates, his goal remains the same, to create something with an emphasis on light, color, and surface.
