Flower of Hope | Talley Fisher | Santa Clara, CA
Above the waiting area of the Sobrato Pavilion is a two story space divided by a patient bridge. This area was identified as a location for an art installation in order to visually connect the two areas on either side of the bridge.
The artist was commissioned to create a large-scale suspended artwork using powder coated perforated aluminum. The organic aluminum forms were suspended using stainless steel cables to form a flower when viewed from the waiting area on one side of the bridge. The installation continues on the other side where the aluminum forms reflect a trail of petals drifting in the wind. The natural forms work to create a positive and uplifting spirit for the visitors waiting below.
