Suhas Bhujbal explores identity and connection in his latest body of work. Shaped by his journey as an immigrant, his paintings reflect both memory and reinvention, the sensation of carrying one world within you while learning to navigate another. Drawing on early memories of crowded markets alive with color, sound, and exchange, Bhujbal translates the energy of these shared environments into dynamic fields of overlapping figures. Bhujbal intertwines imagery from his native India, his travels, and his home in San Francisco to capture the pulse of human connection across cultures. His work embraces both friction and flow, suggesting that coexistence, though complex, is vibrant, resilient, and alive.
