Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce the eleventh solo exhibition with Patrick Dintino.
“For this body of work, I want to zoom out to try and see the big picture of our place in time.” – Patrick Dintino
In his upcoming exhibition, Patrick Dintino examines subjects like “Utopia” and “Neuron” to visualize the juxtaposition between cultural ideals and the fundamentals of the natural world. Through this comparison, Dintino reflects on how society has come to evolve and if certain factors, like technology, have been beneficial or detrimental to our collective wisdom.
Dintino’s spectrum paintings focus on a subject matter that has been refined to a set of colors. Each color is applied on canvas with oil paint and is seamlessly blended with a brush to create vivid, diffused color bands. In a similar fashion, Dintino’s spectrum collages utilize recognizable objects, like playing cards, where the material’s color becomes the driving force in the composition.
