Catherine Dudley is an LA-based fiber and collage artist. Her particular process and techniques are derived from skills developed over the last twenty years of art-making. Catherine’s inspiration is directly related to the visual complexity and imperfect beauty of the urban landscape. Elements ranging from old signage and graffiti to architectural forms and repetition in nature are extracted as visual souvenirs and work their way into each piece - whether it be a collage or a weaving - via color, shape, and pattern. Catherine’s works are intuitively constructed to convey her unique vision; they are an organic organization of form and design.
“Evolution is the center point of my process. I achieve this through intuitive and recurrent construction, deconstruction, and recombination of materials and imagery.”
Catherine Dudley’s work has been collected both publicly and privately throughout the country.
