"My work is very urban and also very colorful. It’s essentially a conversation between color and form."
Andy Burgess grew up in London. The son of creative parents who loved theatre and classical music, he was immersed in all the culture London has to offer at a young age. His urban upbringing inspired an admiration for the architecture of cities. "I went to school overlooking the river Thames and in the shadow of St. Paul’s cathedral and The City of London and I was always impressed by architecture, old and new."
His love for art and architecture expanded during his travels around Europe and New York City. During this period, Andy began combining his interested in urban architecture with his collections of vintage ephemera. "I explore the texture of the city, how it slowly changes and transforms itself, revealing traces of the past."
